Doesn't fix icons that relocate on desktop…. Try it and see. rearranging still happens even when auto-arrange is not selected. I have program icons, folders (including the my documents folder) and documents on my desktop. Source

You see, if the video card or its driver do not behave well, they may change the resolution spontaneously, and when the resolution changes, it causes Windows to rearrange the icons with the exception of the right click functionality. The only other solution that I have ever found is to update my video card driver (GeForce 9500 GT) but the updated driver causes my video card to overheat, so I've Wird verarbeitet... And obviously if they had this problem if they found a solution?I'll report back with my findings on the driver rollback and whether or not that was it.

Align Icons To Grid Sometimes it seems to help, but the problem is so intermittent that it is hard to tell without waiting for a month or more.One thing to note. Not exactly the best resolution, but it works. Even if I was running Win 8/8.1 I would damn well make sure core parking is disabled.

Mozilla Firefox could be on the bottom of my desktop, then whenever I open a game it moves to the top right corner. if you make an alias of the offending application, the alias will stay put in the dock for some reason. Both monitors are running into a single HIS 6950 2GB model video card. Check This Out Same with any other icon.
I understand that windows forgot how to make a decent UI after XP, but that's not my problem. The only coincidence I can think of that may have caused this is my graphic drivers.
