The problem could possibly due to corruption in the Registry. If I push it in,it resists and comes back out.The most recent changes are that I recently got cable internet and installed a network pci card for it. Suddenly, when I type google.com into the address bar and the page pops up, the entire IE freezes. Restart IE. It also sometimes will freeze when using Windows Explorer functions(opening or saving files).
If you can't even get to google because of this problem, try right clicking on the IE button and select "Start in Private Browsing". I will re-post if I can determine which disabled Microsoft add-on will allow google.com to load and function correctly.
